Ocean Beach Club Phase II
The second tower of the Ocean Beach Club (known as Phase II) is the most recent addition to the Gold Key/PHR portfolio. Beginning construction just one year after the opening of Phase I, Mid-Eastern Builders, Inc. completed the structure 90 days ahead of schedule allowing us to open our doors in June of 2008. Achieving a level of design excellence in Phase I, Clark-Nexsen Architecture, NCG Architects and Design Continuum were invited to move forward with the Phase II project. This $40M tower was also financed through Liberty Bank.

Ocean Beach Club Phase I
Clark-Nexsen Architecture and NCG Architects designed the newest resort on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, the Ocean Beach Club in November 2003. This $34M tower was financed by Liberty Bank and constructed by W.M. Jordan Company, Inc., the same company that made both the Boardwalk Resort & Villas and the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront a reality. Design Continuum helped complete the project with Caribbean-inspired interior design. Upon opening its doors to the first guest in August 2005, Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate (HRACRE) deemed this project the "Best Commercial/Retail Building Over 100,000 SF."

Hilton
Gold Key/PHR continued to collaborate with W.M. Jordan for the construction of Virginia Beach’s premier hotel, the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Part of a $90M public/private partnership with the City of Virginia Beach, the project began in August 2003. At that time, Cooper Carry was brought on to design the structure and produced an award-winning restaurant and signage for Catch 31 Fish House and Bar. The interior design was executed by Design Continuum, Inc. and The Johnson Studio. This entire project was financed through TowneBank/Mercantile.

Boardwalk
Beginning in June 2001, the $20M project for Boardwalk Resort and Villas broke ground. Designed by Kann & Associates with a majestic clock tower, the style of the Boardwalk was unlike any other at the resort area. W.M. Jordan put the vision into reality, while King Design received the honor to outfit the interior. Liberty Bank, which also backed Turtle Cay Resort, supported the Boardwalk to open Summer 2002.

Turtle Cay
Gold Key/PHR Hotels & Resorts began construction on Turtle Cay Resort in June of 1997. The four phases of the project were led by Hoy Construction, Inc. and designed by Tymoff + Moss Architects. This $19M resort was financed by Liberty Bank and continues to be a profitable asset in the portfolio. The interior design of the resort was envisioned to be a private, cabana-like oasis and was perfectly executed by Barnel Design Group. Turtle Cay is located at the South End of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
